MYCELIUM DANCE WORKSHOP

I developed a dance workshop where we go through the life cycle of a mushroom-forming fungus in movement. The dancers are guided through words and music to decentralize their body, reach out to others, break down their movements, dance around in fairy ring, and much more.

The workshop has the purpose of us connecting to the world of fungi, and having fun while we do it. I believe we can learn and listen from fungi (and other species) in many ways, and dance can be one way.

I held the workshop at KIB the 19.11.2025 and it was truly wonderful. I got a lot of nice feedback. Around 30 people participated, with the youngest being 6 and the oldest I believe 60-70.

I have a wish (so did the participants at KIB) to do the mycelium dance in the forest.

The workshop is inspired by the improvisation dance Gaga as directed by Kari Vig Petersen, but I'm not trained in that.
