Ida Dalsgaard Nicolaisen

Artist - Community and protest organizer - Fungi ally

I am dedicated to resist the escalation of climate and ecological collapse, and work for a strong democracy where all human and other species’ voices are valued and heard.

Cand.comm in Performance design and Cultural encounters, focus on multispecies and decolonial thought and artistic research.

Combining the poetic, the political and the spiritual to create connections between humans and the rest of nature, and foster both mass resistance and the growth of alternative realities.

Active in Extinction Rebellion for 6 years, experienced in movement strategy, mobilizing, press work, public speaking and artivism. Trained in community organizing, including facilitation of people’s assemblies.

Cofounder of performance collective Becoming Species. Especially connected with the fungal queendom.

Care worker for a person with a disability.

My work has its foundation in curiosity, co-creation, play and love.

• 2023-24 Completed course and diploma in mushroom identification with Svampeforeningen

• 2024 Trust the People - Community organizing. Course in eg. democratic People’s Assemblies.

• 2020 Internship at mushroom cultivation company Beyond Coffee.

• 2014-2020 BA and MA in Performance Design and Cultural Encounters, Roskilde University. Thesis “How Like a Mushroom - An Experiment in How to Make Kin with Fungi”.
